A February Contest

January 31st, 2010

I am going to have a contest during the month of February. Two lucky winners will receive a free copy of my book, Easy to Make Storybook Dolls. If you write a comment in February on any of my posts you will have your name in the drawing, unless of course, you request not to be included. You do not need to include your email address in order to comment. Winners will need to email me their mailing address so that I will know where to mail the books. I live in the USA, but would be glad to mail the book to other countries. The sewing measurements are given in inches, however, so the book might not be useful to everyone. I promise to post at least once a week during February, but remember you can make comments on any post and be eligible for the drawing. My piano teacher will draw the winning names on Tuesday March 2, before my piano lesson. I hope that I will be hearing from you this month.

Count me in!!!!! I just discovered your book and like I said before, I love your Dorothy doll. I hope to make her for my Oz collection!!! I may also shrink the pattern and try my hand at making a Christmas tree ornament!

A Christmas tree ornament is a great idea. Toto is a quick and easy project made from yarn pompoms. He is probably easy to shrink. I think that Dorothy is really not complete without Toto.

I hear ya!!! I have a Dorothy doll in my collection that had her Toto meet with a tragic accident after Christmas (my fault of course) and it has bothered me ever since to look at her without him!!!!

I may try and adapt one of the patters to make Ozma of Oz, the ruler of Oz in the books. Your patterns look like fun!!!!

I think that Ozma would make a beautiful doll. I would love to have time to make patterns for Glenda, Ozma, and Dorthy’s companions. I have thought about a scarecrow with real straw, a tin man from silver lame’, and a cowardly lion big enough for Dorothy to ride on. A few Munchkins would be fun, too.

WOW!!! Those would be fantastic if you had the time!!!!! The Witches of Oz would be cool (Glinda the Good Witch of the South, The Good Witch of the North, the Wicked Witch of the West and Mombi). And Dorothy’s 3 companions would be great!!!! A few years ago I made a Jack Pumpkinhead for my Robert Tonner Oz doll collection and started a Scraps the Patchwork Girl. Jack turned out great but Scraps wasn’t turning out the way I wanted. I’ll revisit her sometime again though.

Wow, we just surfed through your blog. Jack wanted to find the section for the scotty dogs. (I have the pattern somewhere) Then we hit a button and your book came up on Amazon.com!!!! We are so impressed. Why didn’t I have girls! Got a new monogram machine so I have to learn to sew properly so I can use it to its full potential. Wished we lived in the same city… guess I am going to have to order your book to learn how!

It was so much fun the first time I typed my own name on the Amazon search and my book poppped up! Toto is one of my favorite projects, but maybe Jack and I can make Buffy out of tan yarn sometime.
